In July 2018, a short film, TATTOOIST, made by VHQ, stood out from the submitted works for Los Angeles Independent Short Film Awards, grabbing the Platinum Awards at Los Angeles Independent Short Film Awards 2018.
The Tattooist followed a clue of a prestigious tattoo studio, and those who frequented and came to the shop were drugged and imprisoned, and finally became the tattooist’s masterpiece. They were forced to fight their fears in a race against the clock to escape, before turning into victims of the tattooist.
The TATTOOIST was a directorial short film of Michael Wong, a Malaysian Director, and produced by VHQ post who did a solo job on the following stages from editing, color grading, compositing to the final output in the end.
We have seen a growing number of excellent creative works since we joined the event vying for the prize. The seamless international teams in combination with the diversified culture makes the film and TV industry go faster, bringing filmmakers abundant inspirations and broader operation networks. VHQ will keep forging ahead as it seeks to produce more and better works in the future.
